BLAST Robotics showcases Nix, invites partners to expand youth STEM opportunities

EDGMONT, Pa. — BLAST Robotics student leaders brought robotics to life for students and families Oct. 1 at the Community Career + Education Forum at the Endress+Hauser Northeast Regional Center, demonstrating their new robot, Nix, alongside smaller robots for younger visitors.

The team plans to compete with Nix at Ramp Riot 2026, the 26th annual robotics competition, Oct. 24 at Wissahickon High School in Ambler.

BLAST Robotics, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 10989, is a program of Berwyn-based nonprofit Keystone STEM Alliance. Student leaders Lemuel Xu, Virat, Vivaan, Mayon, Aaryan, Brady and Priyanka led the exhibition, with parent volunteers supporting transportation, logistics and event operations.

Elementary and middle school students explored smaller robots, while high school students and adults gathered around Nix. The demonstrations drew strong visitor interest and gave student leaders opportunities to explain their work, answer questions and inspire younger students.

The Community Career + Education Forum introduces students and families to science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and career opportunities.

Hari Ponugoti, Coach and Mentor thanked Luke Xu, Sales Engineer at Endress+Hauser for connecting the team with the opportunity and also provided a tour of the company facilities to the BLAST robotics Team.

The organization’s vision is to create a pathway from early STEM exploration to technical careers. Its long-term goals include developing registered apprenticeship programs and evolving into a two-year technical school focused on practical skills, industry credentials and workforce readiness.

🤖⚙️ Young engineers took center stage in Berwyn as BLAST Robotics transformed its workshop into a hands-on STEM showcase for local families!

During Keystone STEM Alliance’s STEM Palooza, students demonstrated robots, explained engineering concepts, and showed younger visitors what goes into building a competition robot — from design and fabrication to programming, wiring, testing, and refinement.

🔧 BLAST Robotics captains Vivaan Krishna and Virat Ram helped lead demonstrations with their teammates.
🤖 Elementary-age visitors experimented with VEX IQ robotics.
🍪 Students and parents hosted a bake sale supporting Keystone STEM Alliance.
🏕️ Families also learned about future STEM camps and programs.

The event gave BLAST students a chance to become teachers and mentors while giving children an up-close look at how engineering ideas become working machines.

Next up: BLAST is preparing for October’s RampRiot competition while Keystone STEM Alliance works to expand its Berwyn programs.

BLAST Robotics Brings Community Together for STEM Palooza in Upper Main Line.

Student led event gives children and families hands on exposure to robotics and engineering as BLAST Robotics prepares for its upcoming competition season

Keystone STEM Alliance welcomed children, students, parents and community members to STEM Palooza on Saturday, opening its doors in Berwyn for families to experience robotics and engineering and interact directly with students from BLAST Robotics, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 10989.

Despite rainy weather, families with children of different ages attended the event to see robotics in action, meet BLAST students and learn about the STEM opportunities Keystone STEM Alliance is developing for young people in the Main Line area and surrounding communities.

Students and parents also organized a bake sale to raise funds for Keystone STEM Alliance, adding a community fundraising component to the event.

Several parents expressed interest in enrolling their children in the organization’s 2027 summer STEM camps, while others asked about opportunities to volunteer and contribute their professional experience to support students and programs.

The event was sponsored by Stacey Holmes Ballard, President and CEO of Eadeh Enterprises, and supported arrangements at the Berwyn Bronze Building. Eadeh Enterprises has been an important community partner in providing a home for Keystone STEM Alliance’s student programs in Berwyn.

Blast Robotics is hosting its first ever Annual STEM Palooza!! Children of all ages and parents are all invited to attend this wonderous event to see what our team is all about!!
We will have a bake sale and some other food items as well so people can have lunch there as well.
Invite all of your friends and family for a full day of fun and robotics, and let’s make this a day to remember!!
