The Community Garage Sale is back on Saturday, June 6 from 9 am - 3 pm at Proksa Park and this year is BIGGER than ever thanks to a completely sold out vendor lineup.

You never know what you’ll discover. Vintage finds, kids toys & games, furniture, home décor, clothes, collectibles, and even hidden gems you didn’t know you needed.

Plus, Drip Coffee will be on site to keep everyone caffeinated while they shop!

Train with one of the best in the nation right here at Berwyn Park District!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Grandmaster Jerry Kidd, who officially achieved his 9th Dan through the Kukkiwon system at the World Taekwondo Headquarters in South Korea, the highest active degree of black belt rank in Taekwondo.

This prestigious honor represents more than 40 years of dedication, leadership, teaching, and commitment to the art of Taekwondo. Only 128 individuals in the United States, and just 4 in Illinois, have earned this distinguished rank.

Now your little ninja has the opportunity to learn from Grandmaster Kidd himself through our Little Ninjas Taekwondo program!

Designed for ages 4–6, this class helps build confidence, focus, coordination, discipline, and respect in a fun and supportive environment.

Here’s a first look at the future playground at Proksa Park!

The new playground design will feature exciting modern play elements along with a colorful pour-in-place rubber safety surface designed to improve accessibility, comfort, and play for children of all ages and abilities.

This playground is part of the larger Proksa Park Renovation Project funded through an OSLAD matching grant, which will also bring additional improvements and amenities throughout the park.

Big things have happened at the Proksa Park ponds over the last few weeks!

Over the course of the project, we’ve seen some incredible progress as this space continues its transformation:
- A stunning new waterfall has taken shape on the west pond
- Fish and turtles have been safely returned to their home
- Major infrastructure has gone into the ponds, including a 10,000-gallon reservoir and new pump vault
- Work has begun on the east pond as the full system comes together

We’ve loved seeing neighbors stop by, ask questions, and share their excitement. It’s clear this space means a lot to our community.

Next up: pump installation, grading around the ponds, continued work on the east side, and more cleanup as everything starts to come together.
