The Timothy School

The Timothy School The Timothy School was established in 1966 as a non-profit school for children with autism.

We are the oldest, non-profit school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to the educational needs of children with this disability. From a church school with nine children, six teachers, and many volunteers, the school has grown into a model program emphasizing Structured Teaching, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Positive Behavioral Supports as core components of the instructional program. Each day

, sixty-four children, ages five to eighteen, come to our school from twenty-seven school districts located in five counties within the southeastern region of Pennsylvania. Each year, we conduct orientation programs for resident physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professional to further their understanding of the autism diagnosis and what this means for children and their families. We provide community service opportunities for students from local elementary and secondary schools who volunteer to work with our students. We also provide pre-service opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from six colleges and universities. Visitors have come to see our school from as far as Denbighshire, UK, Modbury, Australia, and Tanzania, Africa.

We are looking to fill a few remaining positions for our Extended School Year program!
This is a great opportunity for a teacher to gain more experience in the field of autism!
Teacher’s Aide positions are wonderful for college students either studying in a related field or who just really love working with kids!

πŸŽ‰ The Timothy School had the joy of visiting PJP II School - West Brandywine and joining the Feeley Family to officially accept a gift for $3,951.78!

In honor of Autism Appreciation Month, PJP students made a contribution for "Dress Differently Day" and sold Jolly Rancher lollipops in their homerooms for $1.00 each in order to support The Timothy School. πŸ’™πŸ’š

✨ This was all inspired by Elijah Feeley, who attends PJP and is big brother to Jake, one of our wonderful students. Proud parents Tiffany and Greg Feeley, Grandmom Monica and little sister Aubrey were all on hand to celebrate this proud occasion.

A special thank you to PJP Principal Patricia Tarquinio, Director of Advancement Christen Dunn, Learning Support Teacher Coach and Community Outreach Coordinator Kirsten Farish and student council leaders Sienna and Abby, who drove this campaign from start to finish. They didn’t just raise money, they raised awareness and taught the whole school what acceptance and inclusion look like.

When we learned of this fantastic gift, our teachers worked with their students to create handmade thank you cards and a poster for our PJP friends.

Two schools. Two brothers. One community joined together in mission and purpose.

Thank you, PJP. Thank you, Feeley family. 🫢
