The Timothy School The Timothy School was established in 1966 as a non-profit school for children with autism.

We are the oldest, non-profit school in Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to the educational needs of children with this disability. From a church school with nine children, six teachers, and many volunteers, the school has grown into a model program emphasizing Structured Teaching, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Positive Behavioral Supports as core components of the instructional program. Each day, sixty-four children, ages five to eighteen, come to our school from twenty-seven school districts located in five counties within the southeastern region of Pennsylvania. Each year, we conduct orientation programs for resident physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professional to further their understanding of the autism diagnosis and what this means for children and their families. We provide community service opportunities for students from local elementary and secondary schools who volunteer to work with our students. We also provide pre-service opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from six colleges and universities. Visitors have come to see our school from as far as Denbighshire, UK, Modbury, Australia, and Tanzania, Africa.

There's a new member of the Timothy family...and this one has stripes! 🐯

To celebrate our new school mascot, Timothy Tiger, our Reading Coordinator, Carol Kelly, and her husband, Gerry, adopted an Amur tiger from the Philadelphia Zoo in honor of The Timothy School!

Our new furry friend will also inspiree some learning! Throughout the year, students will learn about tigers and their habitats while practicing communication, writing and other skills along the way. 💙💚

Thank you Carol and Gerry for this grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat gift!

📣 A special shoutout to two of our behind-the-scenes heroes!

From keeping our campus running every day to taking on major projects, there isn't much our Maintenance Team, Rick McGurl and John Trolley, can't do!

Most recently, Rick and John tackled the renovations for our new Sensory Room, transforming the space while saving The Timothy School significant construction costs.

To show their appreciation, our students worked with the OT Department to create special thank-you notes, which were framed and presented to Rick and John at our first staff meeting of the school year.

Thank you, Rick and John, for everything you do for our students, faculty and staff! 💙💚

Literacy lessons in Lindsey’s class….say that 5 times fast. 😉
Proud of these boys and their focus. In addition to reading, they’re practicing their handwriting, using AAC and following directions. All in a days work. 💙💚

A huge thank you to the team from WSFS Bank who spent their We Stand for Service Day at The Timothy School and accomplished so much in just a few hours! 🪣🖌️🧹🧽

Team WSFS cleaned, prepped and painted several spaces in our Daily Living Center and Business Center, painted a new storage space for TIM Academy and even decorated our campus for fall. 🍂

These projects make a difference for our students, faculty and staff every day, and they gave our hardworking maintenance team some very welcome helping hands! 💙💚
