LA WoodmenLife Chapter 259/Berwick recently donated over $280 worth of food items to Friends of Clair House Women's Shelter as part of their Qtr 3 Common Bond activity. Way to go 259!

Our WoodmenLife Quarter 3 Common Bond is Feeding the Hungry! LA Chapter 664/Raceland recently worked with the Raceland Community Food Bank to shop with them for "Perishable" items needed. They made two shopping trips with representatives from the Food Bank spending $1200. Chapter members also helped sort purchased items. Way to go, 664!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our Louisiana Fraternalist of the Year, Kathy Perriera! Kathy has been a member of WoodmenLife for over 25 years and is the president of chapter 1154/New Roads. She is involved in all aspects of the chapter's activity and planning of events such as first responder appreciations, teacher appreciations, blood drives, and all flag presentations. She also keeps chapter members informed with a quarterly newsletter. After retiring from the Baton Rouge Police Department last year, Kathy became a certified child advocacy volunteer at her local CASA. She wants to give a voice to children who are abused or were a victim of a violent crime. She works tirelessly with the organization and its partners. You are what fraternalism is all about, Kathy. Great job!

Helping our first responders is a priority. Thanks goes out to Louisiana WoodmenLife Chapter 448/Broussard for donating $1000 to each of three local fire departments for a total of $3000! Milton FD, Broussard FD, and Youngsville FD will be using the funds for a generator and fire fighting equipment.

Helping our community!!!

As COVID-19 continues to affect our lives, we look to lend a hand to organizations helping where it’s needed. Chapter 259/Berwick donated $300 to New Life Tabernacle Pantry. The donation shows the power of what we can do when we work together. Even when we have to suspend community outreach activities, we can still live out our values, like supporting our communities during a global pandemic.
