EMS Week was originally established by President Gerald Ford in 1974 to recognize EMS professionals and raise awareness of the vital role emergency medical services play in communities across our nation. Since 1992, EMS Week has been observed annually during the third week of May, honoring those who answer the call during medical emergencies and provide lifesaving care when it matters most.
Our EMS personnel respond daily to medical emergencies, vehicle crashes, fires, and disasters, often during some of the most difficult moments in a person’s life. Their training, dedication, and willingness to serve help make our community safer each and every day.
The Berwick Fire Department proudly recognizes the dedicated men and women who make up our EMS Division and who continue to serve our community with professionalism, compassion, and commitment.
