During the 2025-2026 fiscal year, our unrestricted endowment earnings allowed us the opportunity to grant over $36,000 back out into the community! With the current increase to that fund, thanks to the Dahlgren Challenge Grant Campaign, we are projected to be able to grant over $42,000 back into the community during 2026-2027! THANK YOU!!

If you would like to make a contribution to the Dahlgren Challenge Grant before the end of our fiscal year (June 30th) and thus increase the amount of potential grant dollars we can send back into the community, click on the link below to find out how!

We truly thank all of YOU for making this possible!

We truly enjoyed having Tom Mosgaller and Mike Breininger, authors of Pulling Together: A Handbook For Community Change, in Bertrand yesterday!

We gave these men, along with the accompanying Nebraska Community Foundation team a true taste of Bertrand with lunch at the Blue Moose Bar & Grill - Bertrand, NE , dessert at the Bertrand Viking Nation Viking Grind, and a tour of Bertrand! We visited the Bertrand Aquatic Center , the Bertrand Fair and Rodeo grounds, and one of the Bertrand Community Builders home projects! It was a wonderful afternoon!

The Peer Leaning Session attended by BACF members was featured on Pure Nebraska! The video below give some insight onto the amazing session we had! Thank you again to Overton Area Community Fund for hosting!

Members of affiliated funds from different parts of the state got an opportunity to share with each other in Overton recently. The event was one of multiple sessions hosted by Nebraska Community Foundation. Attendees enjoyed a catered meal and networking opportunities.

Emergency Grant Vote – Sunday, March 29, 2026

Bertrand Area Community Fund, an Affiliated Fund of Nebraska Community Foundation, grants $8,000 to Bertrand Fire Department. These funds are for vehicle/rig maintenance and the maintenance/replacement of other small equipment (including communication items).

BACF is grateful for your rapid response to the fires that developed in the early morning hours on Palm Sunday south of Bertrand. We also want to thank the many local farmers and other neighboring communities that came together to assist.

"All across Nebraska, neighbors are stepping up and communities are standing together. It's collective action - a common courage - that creates lasting change."

Members of the BACF traveled to Overton for a Peer Learning Session focused on Common Courage in our communities. We truly appreciate Overton Area Community Fund for hosting!

BACF members reflected on the courage seen from Bertrand community members as they tackled projects focused on bettering the Bertrand of today AND tomorrow through collective hard work, volunteer efforts and generous monetary gifts!

We got to brag on YOU and we loved every bit of it! The Village of Bertrand is doing some BIG things and we are excited to be a part of it! THANK YOU!
