Our Chapter HA sister is running to become a representative for Colorado House District 64 - check out her page!
My name is Mo (Maureen) Dower, and I am running to represent House District 64 in the Colorado State House. As a large animal veterinarian and former Berthoud Town Trustee, I have a lifelong commitment to the health and well-being of the people, livestock, and land that make up our rural communities.
I bring a unique perspective to public service. My journey started with a BS in Animal Science followed by my DVM from Purdue. My 30 year professional career began as a solo equine vet, then moved on as a subject matter expert for Pfizer Animal Health/Zoetis.
In 2016 I felt called to public service, initially on an advisory committee. Then in 2018 I was elected Trustee to a four year term, with the last two as Mayor Pro tem.
Veterinarians are trained to ask thoughtful questons, diagnose the problem and provide a solution with compassion. As your representative, I will combine those skills with my local knowledge and connection to our neighbors to bring our communities’ concerns to the State Capital.
As your representative, I commit to:
- Being fully informed: Listen first, then ask the "hard questions" to advocate for all residents.
- Shared vision of outcomes: Pushing for transparent and responsible governance.
- Plan for the future: Preserving our quality of life and agricultural heritage here in Weld and Larimer counties through well-informed policy.
I’ve spent my life caring for those who cannot speak for themselves. Now, I will provide a steady, insightful voice for the communities of House District 64 at the State Capitol.
