Last week, our food bank lost a vital member of our team. David Bell passed away, leaving a void that will be felt by all of us. David was more than a volunteer; he was the heart of our food bank family. He showed up every Friday with a smile that could brighten the toughest mornings, greeting families at check-in, David treated everyone who walked through our doors with dignity and kindness. Our thoughts are with David’s family and friends during this difficult time.
We are so much better for having known him.
Rest in peace, David. Your legacy of kindness lives on!

If you can commit to a few hours of service each week, you'll be part of a collective effort to make a tangible difference in Carroll County. And, if you have a pickup truck, you can help us collect food donations from Walmart on a monthly or weekly basis. Together, let's create a ripple effect of kindness.

From everyone here at Loaves and Fishes, we want to send a massive thank you to the Berryville Lions Club and Equity Bank! Their annual shredding fundraiser was an incredible success for our food bank, and we're absolutely thrilled with the results.

Not only did they offer a valuable service to the community, but their commitment to matching donations truly made a huge impact. Thanks to their amazing efforts and everyone who participated, raising a grand total of $853!

We want to extend a massive shout-out not only to our dedicated volunteers but also to three amazing companies: Hanby Lumber Company, Monett Glass & Mirror, and CIS Inc. On the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, we had an unexpected emergency when our door completely fell off its hinges. Hanby Lumber Company stepped up right away, donating the much-needed plywood, and CIS Inc. quickly arrived to secure it for us. The following Tuesday morning, as soon as businesses reopened, we called Monett Glass & Mirror, and they were here the very next day, putting our door back up (as a temporary fix) free of charge! It's this incredible spirit of generosity from local businesses and our community that empowers us to do what we do.
We're now working on purchasing a necessary new set of doors, and any support toward that purchase is welcomed with immense gratitude.
