The mission of the Somerset Hills Municipal Alliance and Youth Services Commission (SHMAYSC) is to identify substance abuse prevention community needs and implement educational programs to combat alcohol, to***co and other drugs misuse and abuse. The SHMAYSC envisions a community that promotes wellness and is free of the misuse and abuse of alcohol, to***co and other drugs. Bedminster, Bernardsvil

le, Far Hill and Peapack Gladstone are the four towns that comprise the SHMAYSC. SHMAYSC receives funding from two sources: the Somerset County Municipal Youth Services Commission (YSC) and the Somerset County Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC). SHMAYSC programs include:

• DARE
• Peer Buddy Program
• Red Ribbon Week
• Underage Drinking Education Initiatives
• Intergenerational Socials
• Youth Summit

These programs are run by staff at Bedminster Township Public School, Bedwell Elementary School, Bernardsville Middle School, Bernards High School and Bernardsville Recreation.
