We are helping to spread the word about the NM Grown certification and program.

Schools, senior centers, and early learning centers have state funding to buy locally grown food, and we want San Miguel and Mora county growers ready to sell to them. The first step is a FREE food safety training, and registration closes tomorrow (Thursday 10/15).

Tier 1: Tuesday, October 20, 9 AM to 1 PM
Tier 2: Tuesday, October 27, 9 AM to 1 PM
Online via Zoom
Registration closes Thursday, October 15 at midnight
Please note you must complete both tiers to get the certificate.

Completing the training is the first step toward becoming an NM Grown Approved Supplier, which opens doors to new customers and markets. Even growers who only sell at farmers markets will come away with useful food safety knowledge and a certificate they can proudly display. Distribution networks are already operating in both counties, with more opportunities on the way.

Not comfortable with computers? No problem. Jason Gonzalez (Bamboo Farms) is part of the training team and can help participants through the process.

REMINDER: The BCC will hold its next scheduled food distribution for our designated service area on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026 from 10am to 1pm or until we run out of food. Please remember your boxes/bags/baskets as the BCC will no longer provide boxes for recipients use.
There will be a flu shot clinic from 10a to 2pm.
