Advocates New Hampshire

Advocates New Hampshire Advocates NH LLP was founded on a shared belief: guardianship should be compassionate, ethical, and deeply rooted in community.

Advocates NH is a partnership agency dedicated to providing ethical and professional guardianship and advocacy services in Coös County, and Upper Grafton, New Hampshire. Laura and Maria came together with a vision to bring these values to Northern New Hampshire and address the gap in these services that often plagues rural communities.

World Day of Social Justice
Social justice means access to dignity, voice, and protection—especially for those who are most vulnerable.

Today, we recognize the importance of systems that center equity, autonomy, and human rights. In our work, social justice shows up in the everyday: advocating for the least restrictive alternatives, honoring individual choice, and ensuring that people are not forgotten simply because they are aging, disabled, or isolated.

Justice isn’t abstract. It’s personal. And it’s ongoing.

Our democracy is built on principles—not personalities.
Among them: dignity, equality, and the protection of those most vulnerable.

Leadership, at its best, honors these values not only in words, but in action—through justice, ethical decision-making, and care for human rights.

Today, we reflect on the responsibility that comes with leadership and the ongoing work of upholding dignity for all.

❤️ Love Has No Age Limit ~Valentine’s Day in Nursing Homes & Senior Communities ❤️
Valentine’s Day isn’t just for candlelit dinners and chocolates ~ it’s a chance to celebrate connection in all its forms, especially for older adults living in nursing homes, assisted living, or long-term care.

This year, volunteers across the country are spreading joy through programs like the Cupid Crew, delivering roses and Valentine’s cards to nursing home residents to build connections and reduce isolation.

For many residents, love looks like:
🌹 Decades-long partnerships and shared memories
👫 Friendships born in community spaces
📞 Cherished phone calls and visits from family
❤️ Compassionate moments with staff and caregivers

Research on long-term care emphasizes the deep value of relationship-based connection — friendships and meaningful bonds help residents feel understood, secure, and at home.

This Valentine’s Day, let’s remind ourselves:
Love isn’t about age — it’s about connection, dignity, and shared humanity.
💌 Share love with someone today — a visit, a call, a card, or a moment of presence.

🧩🗺️ A pause to ponder…
That person or place you thought of ~
the one you’d call first if something changed ~
Will they still be there in ten years?
Still able?
Still available?
Still in a position to help?
This isn’t about doubt or fear.
It’s about noticing how much our plans rely on people and places we assume will stay the same.
🔍📦
The goal isn’t certainty.
It’s familiarity, dignity, and trust.
Orientation today makes tomorrow gentler.
