Sleepover season sneaking up? A few questions before you say yes: Who else will be at the house? Will there be adult supervision the whole time? What's the plan if my kid wants to come home at 11 p.m.?

Good parents don't mind these questions…they're just part of keeping everyone's kids safe, including theirs.

Three weeks into fall and we're already so grateful for the people paying attention to this page…sharing posts, asking questions, showing up.

This work can feel heavy sometimes, but most days it feels like this: a community that keeps choosing to show up for its kids. Thank you for being part of that.💙

💙To the teachers, school counselors, and school staff across Worcester County: thank you for being some of the most consistent safe adults in kids' lives, and for taking reporting seriously even when it's hard. You see these kids five days a week. That matters more than you probably realize.

A few weeks into the school year is a good time to check in on the online safety conversation…not because something's wrong, but because kids' apps and friend groups shift constantly.

Ask what apps they're using this month (not last year). Ask who they're talking to that you haven't met in person. Keep devices charging outside bedrooms overnight if you can swing it. Small routines, not surveillance, tend to work best.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and while bullying and abuse aren't the same thing, they share something important: kids need to know it's safe to tell an adult when something's wrong, whether it's happening at recess or somewhere much more serious.

This month, we're talking more about how the adults in a kid's life build that kind of trust. It starts with really listening the first time they tell you something, big or small.

If you follow us for one reason, it might be her: Belle, our facility dog, and honestly one of the best parts of our team. She has a way of making a nervous kid's shoulders relax that no amount of training fully explains…she's just really good at her job, which happens to be comfort. Community favorite doesn't begin to cover it. 💙🐾
