MCBP’s Bird Habitat Program enjoyed leading a birding trip for the recent Maryland Ornithological Convention that covered the four counties of Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester during the weekend of the Nor’easter! Great attitudes, lots of wind and rain, and still a lot of birds! Their next convention is May 21-23, 2027 in Western Maryland in time for spring migration.

Exciting news! We are working the Sunfest B**r Garden this year! What does this mean? We need a few more incredible volunteers like yourself to assist working the b**r truck. This means pouring b**r, collecting money, and having a great time with the Sunfest attendees.
Sunfest runs from October 22nd to October 25th in downtown Ocean City.

Our education team had the pleasure of attending the 3rd annual Outdoor Rec Summit this October. This is the first time this conference has been hosted on the Lower Shore and we were so happy that we were able to help with their rec trek, attend amazing conference session and lead a field excursion. A big shoutout to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for all the hard work they put into organizing this conference. We had so much fun networking with outdoor recreation professionals across Maryland!

Last night we took to the water for our last community boat tour of the season! The winds were calm and we had a great night birding, exploring, and learning about marshes! This free tour was sponsored by Ocean Downs Casino. Thank you for supporting community outreach and education efforts in the Coastal Bays! We had so much fun meeting so many new people and can't wait to Cruise the Coastal Bays more next year.

For the past 18 months, there has been a special project in the works to capture the essence of the Coastal Bays and the places that inspire us all.
We truly think that this short video bottles up the magic and originality of this place we call home. This community is passionate, caring, and welcoming. It’s filled with a gentle energy that ebbs and flows through the seasons. And this video works to tell our story.

It has been brought to life by Sarah Murray, Drew Murray, and Nate Bittinger. For the past year and a half they have documented, developed, and produced this piece of art. We are so gracious for your craft and passion!

We hope you enjoy this as much as we have. Share it. Love it. Watch it on repeat. Thank you everyone for a great 30th years. Cheers to many more!
