CRAZY Channel Cat Action! I filmed a multi day catfishing video downstream of Dam 5 on the Upper Potomac River (Clear Spring, MD). Although I was on the hunt for a MONSTER flathead catfish, the channel cats came to play. Fishing one of Maryland’s TOUGHEST Bass Lakes! Today I headed to Big Pool located within Fort Frederick State Park (Washington County) on the hunt for some Largemouth Bass. I struggle to consistently catch fish here but I was able to get two from the bank!

New Species ALERT 🚨 Today I caught some nice sized Crappie! Their “papermouth” allows them to become effective suction feeders. They will quickly open their mouths and create suction to pull in their prey. I noticed the crappie sucking in my lure and sometimes spitting it out before I was able to get the hook set. I've been over here talking about every jig head under the sun for this bait, and Drew says, "I'm just going to put a hook through the nose," then goes out and catches a dozen bass showing how much we tend to overthink our techniques as anglers.
