Announcing the official release in paperback and Kindle eBook of our son’s autobiography, Castera Charles - Survive and Thrive! Cas, assisted by his talented cousin, Owen Mastropaolo, has dedicated 3 1/2 years in writing his story… in his words… as he lived it… From the streets of Port au Prince, Haiti, to the farm fields (and COLD) of northern Ohio, on to the halls of Gallaudet University, and finally living his dream life in St. Augustine, Florida, Cas tells in his own way how he survived the challenges life handed to him as a former child slave, hard-of-hearing, Haitian Adoptee. Ken and I cannot be more proud of how our son is choosing to THRIVE!

How exciting that the release of his book coincides with Cas’ involvement in the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Building Extraordinary Organizations and Leadership Conference! Cas was able to present Tim with a copy of his book in-person and participate in an amazing 2 day invite-only conference in Jacksonville!

Meet the 2026-2027 YEDA BTG Competition Team! Mackina is in her 2nd year on the team and riding in the Topaz division!
YEDA (Youth Equestrian Development Association) is a program that encourages the development of riders’ skills with the core values of:
Sportsmanship Meet the 2026-2027 YEDA BTG Competition Team! Connor is in his 1st year on the team and riding in the Amber division!
YEDA (Youth Equestrian Development Association) is a program that encourages the development of riders’ skills with the core values of:
Sportsmanship Youth
Honor Education
Opportunity Dedication
Work Appreciation
Our inaugural team competed last year and enjoyed the experience immensely! The supportive atmosphere at YEDA events impressed our team members and their families. In addition, our riders certainly broadened their life experiences in a discipline not commonly accommodated for people with different abilities. Most importantly for us, YEDA has classes for Equestrians with Disabilities. There are two divisions, Amber (walk only) and Topaz (walk/jog or trot). Each division will have an independent and an assisted class, riders can choose which division/class is best for them. All EWD classes have rail work and a pattern. The YEDA show season runs from late summer through spring, ending with the National Championship Weekend! Most importantly, our riders will have the chance to be part of a supportive team and have the opportunity to widen their horizons.
