As the spring 2021 season has come to a close. I wanted to take a moment and say THANK YOU! You all stepped up and did an amazing job in the face of a challenging season.

We were coming off a world wide pandemic, and while most games were 100% covered, the games that weren't, were still able to be played with an augmented referee crew!

So thank you!

Now, I'm asking a favor. Do you know someone interested in picking up a whistle or flag? We are in desperate need of officials to replace our dwindling referee population. This is ideal for anyone that loves the game of soccer from ages 14 to 60. Not a bad way to earn some extra $$$$. Get paid to stay fit and be around this beautiful game.

New courses are being offered now via zoom!
Class dates: 7/17, 7/25, 7/31, 8/8, 8/14, 8/22 and 8/28. More class to be added as we move through the fall.

For registration year 2022, the MSRC will be adding field sessions as a component of both the entry level courses and recertification clinics. This will be done in a 2 hour block through out the week.

Please remeber
AFTER your recertification or new Grassroots course complete the following:

(1) Prepare Registration Letter: Sign, date, and complete any steps given you by the Instructor to get your registration letter for submission.

(2) Submit Registration Letter (within 3 days of class): Scan your Registration Letter as a PDF only (no jpg). Send it via email to [email protected]. If you cannot create or email a PDF file, make a copy for your records, and then mail (check postage!) the original form to: MSRC, P.O. Box 33, Reading, MA 01867

(3) Complete the Grassroots Referee Test: A link to the online test will be emailed to you within 48 hours of your having submitted your Registration Letter.

We have just 2 more weekends of recertification clinics on the schedule. If you wish to referee games in 2021, you should log in to your account at www.Massref.net to enroll.

There are two types of recertification clinics available:

• Grassroots Referee Recert - 1-4 years certified
• Grassroots Referee Recert - 5+ years certified

Select a clinic appropriate to the number of years you have been certified as a referee.

Clinics will be offered remotely through Zoom. Attendance in an online clinic and completion of an online test are required. Information will also be shared regarding supplemental safety requirements.

While enrolling, be sure to PRINT your Registration Letter. You will be given instructions during class on how to submit that letter, which will be considered proof of your attendance. Submitting the letter after class is MANDATORY.

This year, due to the circumstances surrounding the outbreak of coronavirus, US Soccer has decided to waive 2021 Registration fees for those who were certified for 2020. Only the fee is waived. You are still expected to attend a recertification clinic and complete all requirements for continued certification in 2021.

2021 Badges will be mailed to the address listed in your Massref account after all requirements have been met. Be sure the information in your Massref account is updated and accurate.
