Friends and Fans of the Berkley Theater:
Back in 2009, when I created this page, I was living in Berkley. My intention was to create interest in the theater with the possible outcome being a restoration and revival of the property.
I don't live in Berkley anymore, but I still believe in the Berkley Theater. For those of you who do live in the area, I might suggest the following:
Buy the theater.
When I last checked, the property was worth about $1.5M. With enough investors, a group could buy the property from the holding company who owns it, kick the Rite Aid people out and restore the place to its former glory. The Detroit area could certainly support a live-performance venue in southern-Oakland county, and the added revenue to the city would be happily appreciated.
What do you think?
