Bridge Village Heritage Park

Bridge Village Heritage Park The ' Friends of Bridge Village Heritage Park" was formed in 2007. The Friends maintain and preserve The property was overgrown and full of trash.

In November of 2005 the Historical Commission, at that time three women, requested that the Board of Selectmen grant them permission to create a park on a small piece of property that the town owned on the banks of the Taunton River. The idea was to create a park for people to be able to access the river with their canoes and kayaks, have a picnic or just sit and enjoy the view. Permission was gra

nted. In March of 2006 work began. Over the next 8 months many volunteers including businesses, residents of Berkley and surrounding towns, Boy Scouts/ Girl Scouts, removed trash, cleared brush, spread loam, and planted flowers. Clam shells were spread to form the parking lot and path to the river. Picnic tables and benches were donated. A bicycle rack was installed. In October of 2006 the park officially opened. Over 100 volunteers helped to create this beautiful park at no cost to the town. The Friends of the Bridge Village Heritage Park was formed in February of 2007.We are a 501c3 organization whose sole purpose is to maintain and preserve the park. This small oasis on the banks of the river is used every day by residents from all over the region.

Welcome Spring! As of yesterday, a new season officially began. March 20, 2026, signified the spring equinox and the astronomical first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, where we can look forward to longer days and warmer temperatures. We are very excited at the Bridge Village Heritage Park. A small group of volunteers had our annual meeting this week, recognizing all that was accomplished last year! We’ve added three Adirondack chairs overlooking the Wild and Scenic Taunton River! We also have upgraded the entrance to the parking area. No more ruts! We are looking forward to our recently planted roses blooming in full display this year and have established a Venmo account. We will be posting the Venmo QR code on our park information sign soon! Your donnations keep this Berkley treasure operational. Thank you to the community for all your support! This
park truly is a community effort and we are moving forward in the continued effort to protect and nurture this community treasure for all of us! If you haven’t been to the park recently, please stop by! As the Northern Hemisphere tilts toward the sun, look for blooms of daffodils at our park typically in April. It’s only a matter of time. Also, please help in the stewardship of our park by taking out what you carry in. We have no trash barrels at the park to keep overhead low and our park clean. Also please do not feed the wildlife. This park depends on us. We appreciate you and thank you in advance for your continued support! See you soon at the park!

Happy New Year from your stewards at the Bridge Village Heritage Park!

Project complete! Come on down and enjoy the view! It takes a village to keep the Bridge Village Heritage Park up and running! A big thank you to retired Captain Bill Church and retired Deputy Chief Russ Horgan for your help! Thank you both for your continued service to our community. The chairs look great recessed and spruced up with mulch! We all appreciate you!

Hello Neighbors! We are thrilled to announce 3 Adirondack Chairs have been installed at the Bridge Village Heritage Park, in appreciation of our original stewards, Marge Ghilarducci, Diane Ennis and Barbara Hunt! This was a park built and cared for with, love and dedication and we want to thank all involved with the on going upkeep of the park, that is necessary, for all of us to enjoy! We especially want to thank J&R Precast, Bob Katon and crew, Manny and Billy! The area where we chose to install the chairs, overlooking the beautiful Taunton River, was very hard so we are going to end up having to grade down from the covers with either loom or stones. We are in the process of figuring that out! Again a big thank you to Bob Katon, Manny and Billy. We appreciate you and your support of our park and honoring our original stewards!
