🚧 Reminder for Saturday Distribution 🚧

Please note that 12 Mile Road will be closed this Saturday due to a city event. An email was sent to you yesterday.

To reach the pantry, please use:
• Coolidge Hwy or Greenfield Rd to Edwards Ave.
• Follow Edwards Ave. to either Wakefield Ave. or Robina Ave, which will bring you to our parking lot.

A volunteer will be stationed at the corner of Edwards & Wakefield to help guide you. You can call us at (248) 907-0723 for any help.

You may encounter temporary barricades related to the event. If needed, you may carefully proceed around them to access the pantry parking lot. If you move a barricade, please place it back when you are finished as a courtesy to the event organizers.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing you Saturday! 💚🧡

Getting started is easy: just visit our website, complete the volunteer waiver, and sign up for the day, time, and role that works best for you. That’s it—super simple!

We’ve also added several summer volunteer opportunities, so take a peek at the schedule and see what fits your calendar. We’d love to have you join us as we serve our community together!

The Pantry Board and our volunteers would like to thank Enterprise and their amazing employee Abby Hagland Watteny for always looking out for our food pantry. We received a generous donation thanks to Abby nominating us! This goes right back to buying food and paying bills!

Pardon our dust while we spread out a little. ✨

For the past several years, we’ve been dreaming, brainstorming, borrowing corners, stacking boxes creatively, and trying to find ways to grow alongside the needs of this community. Just before Pastor Zack announced his departure, he shared the exciting news that we’d be able to expand into the space next door this fall. To our surprise, it became available this month instead — which means we finally got to pull back the accordion wall and stretch out a little.

One of the hardest parts of operating in a small space has been having to occasionally say “not right now” to donations of food, equipment, shelving, supplies, and other generous offers from the community. Every single time, it felt like a little gut punch.

Berkley First has done an incredible job making every inch of this building work for the community. So many groups, programs, gatherings, and people have been cared for within these walls, and we’ve always understood that space was limited. We’ve been deeply grateful for the room they made for us and for the way they continue to open their doors to so many.

This expansion truly belongs to all of you.

Every donated can of soup, every box of mac & cheese, every tiny spice jar, every volunteer hour, every grocery run, every person who believed in this little pantry — it all brought us here. And now, for the first time in a long time, everything gets a place to land.

We’re excited. We’re grateful. We’re probably a little dusty. But mostly, we’re just incredibly thankful to be growing alongside a community that continues to show up for each other again and again. 💚🧡

This pantry was founded by mothers and continues to run because of mothers, grandmothers, aunts, wives, daughters, and women who simply saw a need and stepped up.

A man once said to us, “It’s always women you see doing this stuff.”

Women are so often the planners, nurturers, organizers, caretakers, and the ones carrying the mental load for everyone around them — usually while putting themselves last. So much of what holds communities together is built quietly on the backs of women.

And that same truth shows up every distribution weekend— not just in the families we serve, but in the people who make it all happen. Our volunteers are overwhelmingly women who show up with steady hands and big hearts, serving right alongside us week after week.

Today, and every distribution day, we honor the mothers we’re privileged to serve. We see the ways you show up for your kids and families, even when the choices beyond our line are hard.

And we want you to know: you’re doing a damn fine job.

Happy Mother’s Day to every woman who shows up with love — as a mother, grandmother, auntie, caregiver, bonus mom, or chosen family. 🌷

🧡 Donation Days are here! 🧡

The pantry doors will be open tonight and tomorrow to accept your donations! We accept unopened, non-expired food items (both perishable and non-perishable), as well as personal hygiene and cleaning products.

📅 Friday 5/8/26 | 5:30–7:00 PM
📅 Saturday 5/9/26 | 10:00–11:30 AM

You can find us at Berkley First — pantry doors are located off Kipling Ave.

We know food prices are high and that simply keeping your own household stocked right now can feel overwhelming. Asking people to give extra during times like these is not something we take lightly. Every donation—big or small—truly matters and goes directly back into our community.

We’ve got an amazing team of volunteers ready to help unload donations if needed!
