Congratulations to Anh N. on completing his Eagle Project 🦅
By repairing and rebuilding garden beds at the Peralta Community Garden in Berkeley, Troop 24 and members of the community garden worked together to make the space safer and more functional for everyone. Their joint efforts included clearing all scrap wood and metal, and safely transporting it to the city transfer center.

🎯 Great work, Anh!

Troop 24 scouts had the honor of supporting the Friends and Family of Nisei 442nd RCT Veterans by acting as the Color Guard at their annual Memorial Service. The 442nd, the most decorated army unit of WWII, was composed entirely of Japanese Americans who volunteered for service after having been forcibly interned. Each year it is a poignant opportunity for the Scouts to support, thank, and remember these heros.

🏕️Camporee 2026 was another success! Troop 24 camped this weekend at Lake Berryessa, competing against other Herms District Troops in events such as orienteering, cooking, knot tying, relay races, and performed skits at campfire. The Troop placed 1st overall!

🎯Every patrol worked hard to make this happen - the Alpha and Crazy Cow Patrols both took first with the small but mighty Squirrel Patrol taking third. Our Gil Talmadge entry for “useful gadget” was a shower.

💕Thank you to all the scout and adult volunteers for their dedication and hard work to make this a truly memorable event!

🥘Troop 24 has been practicing cooking during their weekly meetings, turning each session into a fun, hands-on adventure as they prepare for the Cordon Bleu competition at Camporee.

Scouts get to try everything, from chopping and mixing to seasoning and plating, while learning new skills and working as a team. Each patrol creates its own dish following a “Viking” theme and competes against the others. There’s plenty of laughter (and a few taste tests!) as everyone experiments and improves together.

With two years of wins under their belt, Troop 24 is excited and determined to keep the streak going 💪

🏕️ Our troop recently went camping at Anthony Chabot Regional Park to prepare for the upcoming Camporee. This trip was a great opportunity for Scouts to build skills, practice teamwork, and enjoy the outdoors together.

🪢 Throughout the weekend, Scouts focused on learning and reviewing the 10 essential items for outdoor adventures, making sure everyone understands how to stay safe and prepared in the wilderness. They also spent time practicing important knots, building confidence in skills that are crucial for camping and pioneering activities.

🧭 One of the highlights of the trip was working on orienteering courses. Scouts learned how to use a map and compass to navigate through the area, improving both their accuracy and problem-solving skills.
🔥The younger Scouts especially had a lot of fun making s’mores during the campfire.

The camping trip was a memorable experience that brought the troop closer together and built excitement for Camporee.

🌊 Our Scout Sea Base crew is getting ready for an unforgettable adventure! To prepare, the team has been meeting regularly, gathering once a month at the swimming pool to build strength and confidence, and will be spending time together through team-building activities like camping, kayaking. These experiences are helping them grow stronger, not just physically, but as a team.

🍝 To make this dream possible, the crew has been working hard to fundraise. They’ve been reaching out to local grocery stores like Andronico’s, Safeway, and Trader Joe’s for support, gathering ingredients and preparing to host a delicious pasta feed for the community.

💪 This is more than just a trip, it’s a journey of growth, leadership, and lifelong memories.

🍀 Please come out and support our brave Scouts in the Spaghetti Feed event this Sunday, March 29th. We’d love to have you join us and be part of their adventure!

Recently, Troop 24 took on a challenging 10-mile hike at Las Trampas Regional Wilderness ⛰️
With steep climbs and descents, nearly 3,000 feet of elevation gain, and stunning views of green hills and valleys 🌿, the scenery shifted from open hills to almost jungle-like terrain, with some challenging high slopes to climb up and down.
Even our youngest Scouts pushed through it all with positive attitudes and strong teamwork. So proud of their accomplishment!
