After more than 50 days on the strike line, USW Local 5 members made an unconditional offer to return to work at Marathon’s Martinez Renewables facility. Marathon said no and locked the doors.
This is a serious escalation by Marathon. We ask union members, community supporters, and elected leaders to stand with USW Local 5 in this next phase of the fight.
Please help us send a clear message: Marathon must end the lockout, return these workers to their jobs, and bargain a fair contract.
This fight is not over.
Together, we will keep standing with USW Local 5 until Marathon does the right thing: end the lockout, return workers to work, and bargain a fair contract.
Our sisters, brothers, and siblings in USW Local 5 are holding the line but they shouldn't have to hold it alone. Join us every Monday for a solidarity walk at the picket line. Show up, walk a shift, let these workers know that 85,000 union members in Contra Costa County have their backs.
