The Bangladeshi Students and Scholars at Berkeley (BSSB) community is shocked and deeply saddened at the devastating loss of two bright young minds, Zamil Ahamed Limon and Nahida Sultana Bristy, both doctoral students at the University of South Florida. We extend our sincerest condolences to their families, friends, and the entire USF community. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who are grieving this immense loss. May the departed souls rest in peace, and may their loved ones find strength, comfort, and solace during this incredibly difficult
time.
We respectfully call for a full, fair, and transparent investigation into this incident. We urge the relevant authorities to ensure accountability and uphold justice, so that the affected families and
communities may find clarity and a sense of closure. We also urge members of the community to approach this situation with sensitivity and compassion. As details continue to emerge, it is
important to refrain from speculation or the spread of unverified information, and to respect the dignity and privacy of those affected.
We take this moment to remind our community of the importance of personal safety and collective care. Staying aware of one’s surroundings, maintaining regular contact with trusted
friends or peers, and utilizing available university safety resources are important steps in safeguarding well-being. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and to look out for one
another during this time.
In solidarity ,
