Psychosocial support begins with people and the communities around them.
Life can bring challenges that affect how we think, feel, relate to others, and cope with everyday situations. Sometimes, what a person needs is someone who will listen, a safe place to talk, practical guidance, or a connection to the right service.
Psychosocial support brings these forms of care together. It helps individuals, families, and communities strengthen their ability to cope with difficult experiences and maintain their wellbeing.
At Sunburst Kenya, psychosocial support is part of the work we do with children, adolescents, young people, caregivers, and families. Through support groups, counselling, community activities, referrals, and other forms of engagement, we create opportunities for people to receive support within the communities where they live.
A supportive community can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
Support does not always begin with having the answers. Sometimes, it begins with listening.
