AB 1853 (Pellerin, Berman) – barring hate speech in CA voter guides – has passed the CA Legislature and heads to the Governor’s desk!

The final vote count in the Senate was 32-0, with 8 abstentions, and the current Assembly vote is 47-9, with 23 abstentions (which may update slightly by day’s end).

🎉 Thank you to Assemblymember Pellerin and Assemblymember Berman for championing this bill.

Governor Newsom has until September 30 to sign this bill into law.
