Kesem Berkeley

Kesem Berkeley Providing free summer camps and year-round peer support for children impacted by a parent's cancer. Kesem operates at 115 chapters nationwide.

Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Kesem Berkeley was founded in 20

06 and supports children in the Berkeley and Bay Area community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by 160 student volunteers and serves 270 campers ages 6-18 per year. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

On June 27th from 10am to 1:30pm at the SF Golden Gate Conservancy, there will be a special program featuring a nature walk and an exploration of the Crissy Field Station! Activities will include birding, nature journaling, and more! Please bring lunch, as there will be time to eat at the picnic tables. This is open to all campers and camper families💙

It's that time of year.... it's bittersweet to say goodbye to our incredible SENIORS!!!! 💚💙 These people have brought so much magic to Kesem in their time at Berkeley... and we are so grateful for each and every one of them. 🌠 From messy days to cabin chats to screaming camp songs in CalNerds, our grads are truly the embodiment of Kesem Magic. 💫 You will all be missed!!!
