✨ Coach Spotlight: Kaleb Aguilar ✨

From ABSC youth player to leading player development today, Kaleb Aguilar has come full circle! With 17 years on the pitch and a decade of coaching at ABSC, he brings a deep passion for mentorship, creativity, and growth.

From Player to Mentor
As a youth player, Kaleb helped captain one of ABSC’s most successful boys teams. He went on to represent Richmond High, Contra Costa College, and semi-pro team CD Aguiluchos before returning to ABSC—where he’s coached every age group from U4 to U19. 🏅🙌

Raising the Bar
Now helping lead ABSC’s 2026–27 coach and player development initiative, Kaleb focuses on building a positive, high-growth environment across the club. Inspired by Ronaldinho, he encourages players to express themselves on the pitch—and still gets his fix of futsal and street soccer for fun. 🤩🔥

Thank you, Coach Kaleb, for your dedication to ABSC and the next generation! ⚽💙💛

✨Family Spotlight: The Dragonfly & Dino Crew! ✨

We are excited to launch our new Family Spotlight series—celebrating the families who make ABSC feel like home! ⚽️🏠

Kickstarting the series is Coach Jenna, Remi (9), and Massimo (6), a crew where soccer never stops—from kitchen-pitch scrimmages to Wednesday night lights.

The Players: Remi & Massimo
Both started in our U4/5 drill league and haven’t stopped since:
    •    Remi (9): Reppin’ the Dragonflies since kindergarten! Loves team spirit, scoring, origami, and the French National Team. 🇫🇷
    •    Massimo (6): Offense, defense, and high-energy goal celebrations. Big fan of Taekwondo and Mbappé! 🥋

“My team hugs when we score.” — Massimo 🥹

The Coach & The Community
A coach with ABSC for 5 years, Jenna has led both kids’ teams—from the Dragonflies to Massimo’s crew of school friends. 🤩

“It’s a gift to be out there teaching them soccer, sportsmanship, and how to be a good teammate.” — Coach Jenna

A Full-Family Affair 🫶🏻
Soccer is everywhere for this family! Dad Filippo (who grew up playing in Italy) and Jenna play on an adult rec team, the Adult Dragonflies, alongside other ABSC parents—while the kids cheer and play under the lights on Wednesday nights.

Thank you to Jenna, Filippo, Remi, and Massimo for bringing so much joy to our club! ⚽️💙💛

✨ Coach Spotlight: Jarrod Brown ✨

We are thrilled to feature one of our newest ABSC coaches, Jarrod Brown! Currently leading our U12 Boys Strike and Thunder teams, Coach Jarrod brings a deep passion for mentorship, character, and community to the pitch every week. ⚡️🙌

After starting his coaching journey with his daughter’s team, Jarrod joined ABSC with a clear mission: helping kids grow both as players and as people. 💯🤩

“For me, coaching is about much more than developing soccer players. I want to create an environment that helps develop their confidence, character, determination, and maturity.”

Inspired by his high school track coach and a family tradition of community service, he focuses on real connections—whether that’s sharing a laugh with his players over a Manchester United game or receiving handmade birthday cards at practice. 👏🥳

Off the field, Jarrod runs a day program supporting adults with disabilities in Marin and loves going on adventures with his daughter. 🫶

“Coaching is one of the ways I can serve my community. I hope I’m doing my small part to help mold these boys into great human beings.”

We’re so grateful to have Coach Jarrod in the ABSC family! ⚽️💙💛

✨ Coach Spotlight: Ella Matlock ✨

We are excited to kick off the fall season by featuring ELLA MATLOCK! Whether she’s leading our First Touch sessions, coaching on the sidelines, refereeing, or representing ABSC at community events, Ella is a warm, reliable, and engaging presence across our entire club. 🤩💯

With 16 years of playing experience, Ella specializes in introducing our youngest athletes, especially our 3-year-olds, to the game. Her focus is on creating a fun, pressure-free environment where kids can build skills, make friends, and feel supported as they learn. 🫶🙌

Originally from Long Beach and a big fan of Megan Rapinoe, Ella is a fourth-year student at UC Berkeley studying Genetics & Plant Biology. A self-proclaimed nerd who researches in a soil biogeochemistry lab, she brings that same curiosity and dedication to our ABSC community every week. 🧪🌿⚽

Thank you, Coach Ella, for your dedication to our youngest players and everything you do for the ABSC community! ⚽️💙💛

⚡ CHAMPIONS ALERT! 🏆⚽

Huge congratulations to our U11 Boys Lightning Bolts for bringing home the tournament hardware this weekend! ⚡

The Bolts came out on fire, powering through the group stage with dominant back-to-back 8–0 victories over Mustang Elite II and West Hill United Gold to secure their spot in the finals.

Facing off against Mustang Elite I in a tough championship match, the boys dug deep, played as a team, and sealed a fantastic 3–1 victory to take 1st place! 🥇

Incredible teamwork, grit, and effort all weekend long. Way to represent ABSC! Go Bolts! ⚡💙💛

Shhh! 🤫 Silent Soccer is HERE this weekend (Sept 19–20)!

We’re turning down the sideline volume so our players can find their own voices, make their own plays, and build field confidence.

The Sideline Game Plan:

👏 Cheer & Applaud? YES! We love your positive energy for BOTH teams.

🤫 Shout instructions? Not this weekend! Let the players solve the puzzles on the field.

📋 Coaches: You have the floor at halftime and during subs!

👟 U6 Teams (Ages 5–6): Coaches (and only coaches) may give brief, simple cues to keep our youngest players moving—short and sweet!

Let’s step back so they can step up. Check your email for full details, and we’ll see you on the sidelines! ⚽️💙💛
