Mangalam Center Mangalam Center is a place to learn, grow, and explore in the heart of downtown Berkeley. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Exploring new ways of bringing wisdom to the modern world - we embrace spiritual, Buddhist, secular, and integrated approaches to learning about our mind and ourselves. We host courses, lectures and other public events for the Berkeley community, as well as programs, seminars and academic conferences for a scholarly audience. Mangalam Center was founded by Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku and is rooted

in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. However, we host a broad array of both Buddhist and non-Buddhist events, often co-sponsored by one of our partner organizations. Mangalam Center is dedicated to fostering knowledge for the benefit of the local community and all humanity. Our partners include Center for Creative Inquiry, Light of Buddhadharma Foundation International, Mangalam Research Center for Buddhist Languages, Tibetan Aid Project and Tsethar International
