Hello Berkeley Folk Dancers,

In preparation for the Inaugural Ball on Saturday evening I am hoping that many of you will join in the fun.
Of course, there is the dancing, but we are planning for more …
Here are two requests:
The first request is for you to find and bring one or several photos of yourself from some time ago. We will have a wall area to clip them up in a way that does not damage them. Be sure to have your name on the back so it finds its way home after the dance.
The second request is, we would love your contribution of images of something that changes over time, such as a specific place, or fashion, or architecture, or hair styles, or modes of transportation … whatever you can think of. A series of 2 or 3 related images would be great. Message Cornelia Ghafur to find out where to send.

Berkeley Folk Dancers new Beginners Class is starting Thursday evening, September 7th, 2023. Classes are every Thursday from 7:45 to 9:30pm. To register arrive early, 7:30pm.

Berkeley Folk Dancers is offering a new Family Folk Dance class. This is for kids and their grown-ups. If you haven't had time to folk dance, or wanted to give it a try, here is an opportunity to do so as a family. It is a 1 hour class offered Friday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm, at Live Oak Park recreation hall in Berkeley. No experience necessary. The first of the series will be offered on September 8th. In just two weeks, it's the Polka Dot Parade, a dance party sponsored by the Beginner classes and featuring dances from all levels. It's at Live Oak on July 30, from 1:00-4:00, and costs a mere $10.
