Dear Friends,
As Drangsong Foundation’s core activities have expanded into new directions in the US and abroad, so have the activities of Drubpon Pema Rigdzin (Lama Freddie). After devoting a decade of service to the Drangsong Foundation (formerly Ngakmang Foundation), Lama Freddie has recently formed Lhamen Foundation, a religious non-profit organization that will serve as a vehicle for his flourishing dharma activities as of today.
The name Lhamen was conceived through the blessings of Anam Thubten Rinpoche. It combines two words, Lha and Men. Lha means deity or divine, and Men means medicine or healing. It is short for Men Gyi Lhamo, the Medicine Goddesses who manifest alongside the riṣi. The Medicine Goddesses bridge healing, knowledge and wisdom to all those with aspiration, connection and respect for seen and unseen forces.
Lhamen serves as a vehicle for healing ceremonies, dharma teachings, preservation and translation of Buddhist and sacred texts from Central Asia and the Himalayas. In addition, Lhamen focuses on bringing awareness to the end-of-life process with a commitment to creating a learning platform for chaplaincy and palliative care providers in assessment methods from those wisdom traditions.
We wish Lama Freddie great success in his continued work and service for the global communities under the newly established Lhamen Foundation. We would also like to thank Leela, Misha and Shayna for their service to Drangsong as they move forward supporting Lhamen.
