Ashby Village

Ashby Village Ashby Village launched in 2010 after many discussions and community meetings that began in 2007.

A vibrant community built by and for older adults from different backgrounds and lived experiences, we're neighbors and friends in the East Bay Area helping each other stay connected and navigate life’s curves to make aging easier, enriching and fun. We are residents of Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, Emeryville, Richmond and Oakland who are united by our desire to remain in our own home

s as we get older. Because we know that we may increasingly need assistance and support as we age we pool resources by paying membership dues and volunteering our skills and time to support the Village infrastructure and to assist one another. Membership in the Village provides a wide array of supportive resources that include:

:: Home-based volunteer services as far-ranging as transportation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, minor household repairs and friendly visitors

:: One-call vetted concierge referrals to paid service providers that can include gardeners, painters, attorneys, accountants, and personal care attendants

:: Cultural, social, and educational events and gatherings

:: Health and fitness activities
