Today was the packing day for our El.Cerrito Soroptimist Club's Days for Girls project. After meeting once a month for the past 10 months, cutting and sewing and ironing the parts for our menstrual bags, we stuffed 40 bags to send off for girls in Kisumu Kenya. This is the 10th year we've helped at least 40 girls stay in school all month every month, not falling behind the boys and greatly increasing overall girl graduation rates. A fun day for our most loyal project gang!

We had a fabulous fundraising event today, a British Tea Time at the Berkeley City Club. Great food, super entertainment, and lovely conversations with friends old and new. We also raised almost $20,000 for our scholarships and projects with a silent auction, sales of vintage jewelry , purses scarves and fascinators. A wonderful day!
