Scientific Adventures for Girls SAfG is working to change the face of science. We provide fun & engaging STEM programs for youth in the East Bay Area.

Our mission is to remove systemic barriers to all girls’ participation in STEM starting in kindergarten, engage them through hands-on learning, increase their positive attitudes toward STEM, and equip them with 21st century skills.

Big thanks to our 20 Apple volunteers who spent the day helping prep supplies for our afterschool STEM classes!

Their help saved us 30 hours of teacher time — going right back into our girls across 27 sites.

Grateful for partners who believe in STEM for girls!

We have some wonderful news to share!

Scientific Adventures for Girls has been named the first-ever recipient of the Life Science Cares Bay Area Catalytic Impact Award.

For more than a decade, we’ve had the joy of watching girls explore, experiment, ask questions, build confidence, and discover that STEM is a place where they belong.

The award will be presented at Life Science Cares Bay Area’s 5th Anniversary Impact Festival on September 17.

We’re incredibly grateful to Life Science Cares Bay Area for recognizing this work and its impact on girls and families across the Bay Area.

Did you know your gift might go twice as far? 🎁

Many employers match employee donations dollar-for-dollar. Please take 60 seconds to check if your company matches, then make your gift — it could double your impact on a girl's STEM education at zero extra cost to you.

As the summer winds down, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. 🎒☀️
To every instructor who showed up ready to spark curiosity, every parent who signed a permission slip for "one more experiment," and every girl who walked into class asking "what are we building today?" — thank you for an incredible year.
Here's to a new school year, and to everything these young scientists will discover next. 💙

Last month, our STEM Scholar Club welcomed teen girls for a Career Day — hands-on engineering activities, real talk with women working in tech, and a room full of girls imagining futures they'd never been shown before.

From kindergarten pipettes to high school engineering challenges, your gift follows girls through their whole STEM journey.

If you want to know when we host our next STEM Career Day , please sign up for our STEM Scholar Club newsletter: https://www.scientificadventures.org/stem-scholar-club

It takes a community to raise a scientist. 🌍

From our Family STEAM Events to our library drop-in programs, we don't just teach girls — we bring whole families into the world of hands-on science.

Please donate today so more families get a Saturday morning where a mom and daughter build a simple machine together for the first time.

Here's the honest truth: hands-on science materials, trained instructors, and free afterschool spots for girls of color from low-income families don't fund themselves.

We're closing the STEM gender gap one classroom at a time — but we can only go as far as our donors take us.

Please give today. Every dollar goes directly toward keeping our programs free and full.
