“Like everyone else in Gaza, I lived through displacement again and again, without safety, in constant fear for the people I love, and still I was expected to be out there recording the truth. Every day, the decision to go out and shoot meant leaving my family in conditions that were almost impossible to bear. That weight never left me for a single day of making this film.”
— Jaber Badwan, Palestinian Cinematographer & Producer

Our colleagues continue to leave us in awe despite the inhumane conditions they’ve been forced to live through. Jaber Badwan, the mind and heart behind most of MECA’s visual productions in the past couple of years, was part of the Palestinian team of experts that worked on the award-winning investigative documentary “Gaza: Doctors Under Attack.”

Our team in Gaza recently came together show appreciation to Jaber, to listen to him talk about his experience working on the documentary, and to watch clips of the amazing work he’s done.

Even amid the most horrifying situations, our colleagues took the time to appreciate their colleague. The documentary Jaber has worked on has won many well-deserved international awards, but Jaber won the hearts of many inside and outside of occupied Gaza ago with his skillful visual storytelling.

Thank you Jaber for all you did, all you do, and everything you’ll be part of in the future.
