Next week we will welcome James McCay, the Director of Thermal-Hydraulics Engineering at Oklo, for an info session and discussion. McCay brings extensive expertise in computational fluid dynamics, multiphase flows, and heat transfer across diverse fields such as energy systems, electronics cooling, and climate resilience. Before joining Oklo, he worked as a CFD analyst at Arup, contributed to turbomachinery design at Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench, and conducted research on advanced heat exchangers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He earned his B.S. in Engineering Physics from UC Berkeley and an M.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from UC Davis. This session will give students a unique opportunity to learn about careers in advanced reactor development and Oklo’s mission to deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable nuclear energy.
