🔥 Canada's logging industry is seeking a wildfire 'hero' narrative. A Closer Look 🔥

Canada's logging industry is pitching itself as the solution to wildfires in British Columbia. At the B.C. Council of Forest Industries (COFI) convention, executives discussed how forestry companies could lead wildfire management by reducing forest fuels through increased logging.

But is this the right approach? Scientists are divided. Some suggest that logging might help, while others warn that it could make wildfires worse. It's a complex issue with environmental implications.

Explore the science behind this debate and share your thoughts. Can logging companies be part of the solution, or do we need a different approach? Read the full story to learn more🌲

U.S. Forest Service awarded grants this summer that could revitalize the logging industry in the Tongass National Forest. Dellasala, Wild Heritage’s Chief Scientist, on logging young growth trees: “… we need timber and we can be smarter about where we get it from, how we do it.”

The U.S. Forest Service awarded grants this summer that could help revitalize the logging industry in the Tongass National Forest. Two businesses in Southeast have received hundreds of thousands of dollars to re-tool their mills. Those grants could help tackle housing shortages in local communities.
