Here's to Hannah Cresap and generations of fierce Cresap women who fight to defend the truth. Philadelphia will always be "one of the prettiest towns in Maryland."

in 1767, astronomers Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon officially finalized their multi-year survey, placing the final stone markers to settle the boundary between Maryland and Pennsylvania.

It was ongoing border disputes in the 1730s that triggered the Mason-Dixon survey. While her husband Thomas is most famous for his role in what would become known as "Cresap's Wars," Hannah's fierce leadership helped protect her family's settlement.

Thank you to all of the Cresap descendants who made the trek from 15 different states and 2 countries to celebrate our 250th Anniversary of American Independence and the 110th Anniversary of the Cresap Society! We had a lot of fun exploring the mountains and towns of Western Maryland and Berkeley Springs, West Virginia during this very special Cresap Family Reunion.

A tremendous thank you to for hosting us! Your updated and very comfortable lodge rooms, the banquet room, , and friendly and very welcoming staff made the care and feeding of a large group a breeze. All of us would highly recommend Cacapon to others trying to arrange a large group event.

Thank you to Mayor Bill Green, Mayor of for welcoming the Cresap family and your personal tour of the Historic Springfield Farm. Exploring the old stone 18th century buildings, standing where Thomas and Hannah Cresap once were and getting to visit the nearby former Cresap tract named "Leeds" was a meaningful first visit for most of the Cresaps.

It was beyond exciting for the Cresap family to finally learn in person about the 2024 Tyler Bastian Field Session Archaeological explorations of Cresap Fort in Oldtown, Maryland. Dr. Zachary Singer from the shared tremendous information with us about what was found, the significance of where items were found and how the artifacts were identified once cleaned and researched in the lab. We were grateful to have Thomas and Hannah Cresap's daily life come alive in such an exciting way.

A highlight of our time together was spent at the , during the 26th Annual Oldtown Summerfest , Oldtown, Md. It is difficult to put into words what it meant to stand in the same room where everyone's ancestor made the decision to leave this stone house and his family behind for a higher calling and a greater purpose to lead . Freedom is not free and while Captain Michael Cresap was never able to return here, his family did and we recognize the sacrifices our family made so that we may live in a free country.

We are thankful for those in Oldtown who went the extra mile to welcome the Cresaps. Pastor Riggleman of the , gave a beautiful 250th House Blessing as the Cresap family gathered together inside.

created beautiful flower arrangements for three very special local women who helped to save the Michael Cresap House and its history. Knowing the flowers were grown in Oldtown soil on what was or was near the former James Michael Cresap farm, son of Captain Michael Cresap, helped bring deep meaning to this event.

The Cresap Family and the look forward to the next 250 years and all the generations of Thomas and Hannah Cresap's family still to come. May they be happy, healthy, prosperous, and may they always remember and protect our family's history and its deep connection to the formation of this great nation.
