2nd Annual Paw Paw Trunk or Treat, hosted by Team Hope, Life or Drugs, Tri-State Support and Morgan County Partnership.
Thank you to everyone that set up, donated, and helped! It was windy (if you want the wind to blow, plan an outside event🤭) so our cool tunnel was a sail, but at least we had the sun to keep us warm!
A community event might look like just a carnival, a family night, or a holiday celebration. But beneath the fun, something important is happening.
A child connects with a trusted adult.
A teenager discovers a healthy way to spend time with peers.
A parent learns about a resource they didn't know existed.
A family experiences a positive activity together.

Join us Thursday evening, 106 Sand Mine Rd, at 6pm for group. It's Oct 1st, so of course we have fall fun planned- painting some pumpkins.
We're doing a fun activity while we talk about Fall Reflection.
Don't worry, we tested the paint on the pumpkins 😉

Health officials in the Miami Valley are tracking cychlorphine, a synthetic opioid that's 10 times more potent than fentanyl.

This comes after two students at the University of Mississippi died earlier this week.

Authorities found packages of the substance while investigating their deaths.

"One pill can kill," Brian Mulcahy, assistant special agent with Columbus DEA, said.

Mulcahy said there is a campaign at the DEA to promote drug awareness; he reiterated it when talking about cychlorphine.

"This synthetic opioid can be as much as 10 times more potent than fentanyl, which has really devastated our country in the last several years," he said.

Cychlorphine is often laced into other drugs like fentanyl or designed to look like prescription medication.

Reportedly, it does not show up on drug test strips and multiple doses of Naloxone are needed to reverse it.

"The leading cause of death in our county for the age range of 18 to 45 is actually fatal drug overdoses," he said.

Every human is worth saving simply because they're a human. Simply because everybody is somebody somebody.
But also, naloxone isn't just for illicit drug overdoses. It's for the grandma who forgot she took her pain medicine and takes it again. It's for the toddler that somehow got that pill bottle open and swallowed before you could shovel out their mouth. It's for the dog who chewed up the trash and there was medication in there. ( Please don't throw medications in the trash. There is a drug take back box at the town of bath police department. And there's also a drug take back day coming up october 24th)
I would rather have it on me and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Tonight's topic is Accountability. We will explore the difference between blame and accountability.
"What actually happened?"
"What part was mine?"
"Is there something I need to make right?"
Taking accountability does not mean taking responsibility for things that weren't yours.
