Thank you to everyone who attended the coalition breakfast this morning. Kristen and Summer shared a recap of the incredible work and activities accomplished over the past year. As always, our coalition meetings will pause for the summer and resume in August.

Our staff will also be assisting with several summer programs, and we will share those opportunities and events as details are finalized.

We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank our dedicated staff for their continued hard work and commitment to the youth in our community. A video presentation highlighted many of the initiatives they support, including V**e Prevention, Teen Court, the After Prom Party, and the ongoing efforts of our school-based social workers.

The Morgan County Partnership is proud to recognize the Berkeley Springs Police Department as its 2026 Partner of the Year. Each year, MCP staff select a community partner whose dedication, collaboration, and service have made a meaningful impact on Morgan County and the coalition’s mission.

This year, BSPD was nominated by Melody Stotler for the department’s continued partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration National Prescription Drug Take Back events held every April and October. During this past April’s event, Chief Gardner and Life or Drugs Case Manager Brittnay Buchanan sat out in the rain collecting expired, unused, and unneeded medications to help prevent medication misuse and keep these substances out of the wrong hands.

Outside of the official DEA Take Back events, Sandra Venuto oversees the department’s permanent medication drop box and coordinates the supplies needed to keep the program running smoothly year-round.

In addition, Officer Josh Stangle recently completed a 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. Through this training, Officer Stangle is better equipped to respond to mental health crises safely and compassionately, helping reduce injuries to officers, first responders, and citizens alike.

A special thank you to Mayor Greg Schene for joining the police department team in recognizing the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the staff who continue to make a positive difference in our community.

What an incredible night! We are so grateful for our amazing staff who made this event possible.

A huge thank you to Summer, whose car somehow turned into a clown car packed with supplies. Heather, who handled the majority of door prizes and t-shirts, and Crystal, who keeps everything organized and helped keep Summer in check this week—we couldn’t have done it without you.

Becca and Mel who helped with decorations and even chased down permission slips in the parking lot (true dedication!). We were also lucky to have Tina Badley helping with decorations and serving as a chaperone. Tina is a true gem.

A special shoutout to Charlie, the friendliest security guard you’ll ever meet, for helping keep everything safe and running smoothly.

And thank you to Charlie and Heather’s girls for jumping in to help with decorating—we loved having you be part of the night!

Always a huge shout out to Justun and Amy Litten for showing up and being our DJ. It would be quiet without the music, we’d be shouting raffle numbers all night, and their smiles and jokes that light up the night, would be missed.

The businesses, organizations, and community members who donated to the event.

We are so thankful to provide a safe, fun place for students to spend time with their friends after prom. Nights like this remind us why we do what we do. đź’™
