May is Menstrual Health Awareness Month.

Our Girls United PERIOD project is providing girls, families, and schools in West Virginia with access to period products for free.

In the United States, nearly 1 in 4 teens struggle to afford period products, and many report missing school, feeling embarrassed, or being unable to fully participate in daily life because they don’t have access to the essentials they need.

We believe no girl should have to choose between her dignity and her basic needs.

That’s why the Girls United PERIOD Project exists. To provide menstrual products, support, education, and confidence to girls who need it most.

A period should never be a barrier to education, self-esteem, or opportunity.

May is Menstrual Health Awareness Month!

For the next 10 days, Stars That Shine’s Girls United PERIOD Project will be advocating for girls across West Virginia and raising awareness about menstrual hygiene insecurity that is affecting girls in our state right now.

Hundreds of girls right here in our communities do not have access to basic menstrual hygiene essentials. Many miss school, activities, and important opportunities simply because they cannot afford period products.

Our Girls United PERIOD Project provides schools and families across West Virginia with FREE access to menstrual hygiene essentials, because no girl should have to go without.

As summer approaches and schools close, the need becomes even greater. Help us make sure girls in West Virginia and beyond have access to the products they need with dignity and confidence.
