What’s better than pink? Maybe being named the 2025 Women in STEM-H Award winner!

This prestigious award is given to a Berea College student in the STEM-H field who exemplifies dedication, excellence, and resilience. Malak stood out among many applicants—submitting multiple essays and being selected by a panel of professors.

Congratulations, Malak! Your hard work and brilliance inspire us all!

‘Tis the season… fall 2024!!!

Today, we were starstruck as the moon decided to photobomb the sun, giving us the ultimate celestial spectacle: a total eclipse! The Yahng Discovery Center teamed up with the physics club to throw an epic solar eclipse bash on the MAC balcony, complete witg eclipse glasses for all. Meanwhile, Director Jon Saderholm took a lucky group of students on a cosmic road trip to Indianapolis for front-row seats to the main event. Now, we're eagerly counting down the days until the next eclipse in 2045, with our telescopes and party hats ready to go! 🥳

On Monday, April 8th We will be witnessing a total eclipse for the first time since 2017! The Yahng Discovery Center wants to make it a memorable experience for you and your loved ones.

Because the total eclipse is happening on a Monday, we want you to feel like you are at the site of the total eclipse by hosting an eclipse watch at the Yahng Discovery Center! This event is open to all students and the community.

Solar Eclipse glasses will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own!

Saturday March 16th we hosted the Annual Women In STEM-H conference, and like many other years there was laughter, food, and comfort! We hope to see everyone again next year!

Come for the food trucks and enjoy our wonderful selection of different activities, including: Solar Ovens (smores), Rainbow Waffles, Earth Slime, Seed Bombs, Bird Feeders, and Edible Flowerpots, while enjoying Food Trucks, Face Painting, Tree Planting, Terracotta Pot Painting, a Polaroid Station Photobooth, Art Chalk Contest, a Petting Zoo, and MUCH MORE!
