Please join Berea4Palestine at a production of My Name is Rachel Corrie. This community-engaged performance and conversation will take place at Rebel Rebel (440 Chestnut St, Berea, KY) on Sunday, September 14 at 3PM.

🎭 My Name is Rachel Corrie is a one-woman play adapted from the journals and emails of Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old activist killed in Gaza in 2003. Her powerful words invite us into her journey of activism, idealism, and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The play will be performed by visiting artist Emiley Kiser with volunteer community readers, directed by Alex Mallory, and presented by The Metal Shop Performance Lab, with support from Clear Creek Creative and Berea 4 Palestine. The 95-minute performance will be followed by a facilitated community dialogue.

💸 Pay All You Can (suggested donation $20) — proceeds support Rebel Rebel Studio & Lounge.

✨ Additionally: Join an open community workshop with The Metal Shop Performance Lab and Bereans for Palestine on Friday, Sept. 12, 5:30–7:30PM at the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center Gallery. All are welcome! Contact Bob Martin at [email protected] for more info.

On July 11th we hosted Sounds of Solidarity, a space for our community to re-commit to supporting Palestinian liberation as we approach 2 years of genocide in Gaza after decades of brutalization of the Palestinian people by the Zionist entity. A huge thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke, donated, danced, and held space with us.

We raised over $300 for & you can donate our own PCRF fundraiser using the link in our bio.

Our meetings continue on Thursdays at 5:30p. We welcome all to join us as we solidify our long term strategy & re-energize our group to continue this fight for our lifetimes 🇵🇸

Last night we gathered at Union Church in Berea for a sneak preview and discussion of the film “Severed” created by Jen Marlowe, produced by Donkey Saddle Projects, The Nation and +972 Magazine, with production support from Just Vision. Thank you to Daniel Nerenberg for facilitating this discussion & connecting us with this opportunity to provide feedback to the filmmakers.

“Severed” tells the story of Mohamad Saleh from Gaza. 18 years old, Mohamad has lived through five major assaults on the Gaza Strip, losing his home, family members, his best friends, and (at the age of 12) his leg. Now in exile in Egypt, Mohamad struggles to put together the shattered pieces of his life. Through the eyes of one teenager, the pain and trauma endured by thousands in Gaza is laid bare—along with remarkable strength, resilience and determination to live.

This film was incredibly powerful and evoked many strong emotions from our group. I hope all of you are able to watch it once released. We grappled with the impact of the genocide beyond fatalities - the debilitating injuries and the continued struggle of the people continuing to live and resist and find moments of joy in Gaza.

Our resistance sometimes feels small, but during events like these we find ourselves recommitting to this work for a lifetime. We are in this for the long haul. We started this group in November 2023, not long after Operation Al Aqsa Flood. Here we are near the end of March 2025, and there is no end in sight to Israel’s atrocities and war crimes. We will not abandon this fight, and we hope you’ll join us.
