Something good is coming to Clinton, Jackson, Menifee, and Wolfe counties.

Brushy Fork's People Ready Communities Leadership program is opening up for 2026–2027, and we're looking for everyday people who care about where they live. Students, retirees, business owners, first-time leaders — if you've got a commitment to your community and a desire to grow, you belong here.

It's free. It's 10 months. And you won't be doing it alone.

You'll work alongside neighbors from your own county, tackle something your community actually needs, and walk away with skills, connections, and a network that sticks around long after the program ends.

Only 15 spots per county. Apply by October 23.

Kiana joins the Brushy Fork Leadership Institute as Program Coordinator after serving as Executive Director of the Berea Arts Council for over four years. A practicing artist, her work explores themes of identity, heritage, and place, often drawing inspiration from Appalachian culture and storytelling.

Kiana is deeply committed to ensuring that the arts remain accessible, inclusive, and rooted in community. Her experience, creativity, and passion for community engagement make her a wonderful addition to the Brushy Fork team, and we’re excited for the perspective and energy she brings to our work.
