Marty Wyatt started his Facebook account about seven years ago to post old pictures and items of history that were of interest to his friends. People began donating pictures and information and the material began to accumulate. The list of items became so big and diverse they w
ere organized into separate photo albums. As the albums grew so did the requests for material from a larger area of Kentucky. A list of a few groups on Facebook were formed and the requests kept coming. The groups were an instant success as Facebook became emerging into the market as a platform option for history and genealogy research. The groups grew and Administrators were placed over them to monitor them. These grew into what would become Kentucky History and Genealogy Network, Inc. as it is today. At KHGN, Inc. we have always listened to our members, Admin as well as others who were using this new found platform. That is what has led us into the future as we continue on our path of growth and remaining a benefit to the public and people we have always served. What We Do
Kentucky History and Genealogy Network, Inc. is a Kentucky based, Federal recognized, tax exempt nonprofit service organization that operates as a network. We operate on the old additive that “The sum of the parts of the whole, is greater than the whole”. We support free and non Profit in our effort to support a defined broad purpose. We provide access to works that help you accomplish this through educational and written research articles. We administer SocialMedia groups that contain valuable information and are virtual oral histories. We provide access to valuable research links to piece together information in your quest. We offer public training seminars to further the study of Kentucky History and Genealogy. We offer opportunities to volunteer of your time and expertise to help others through a joint effort. We do all this while striving to provide the service in a friendly respectful manner.
