Habitat Homes

Habitat does not build homes for families in need, but rather with families as equal partners. Habitat is the only nonprofit housing organization in Benton County that offers the opportunity for families to complete "sweat equity" hours in lieu of a down payment and take on a 30-year, affordable mortgage. Family sweat equity requirements are fulfilled by building their own home and the homes of other Habitat families, both of which grow new skills, a tremendous sense of accomplishment and strong relationships with their neighbors. Each mortgage payment goes into a revolving "Fund for Humanity" to finance future Habitat homes.
