This past Sunday in church we studied Luke 15 and the parable of the lost sheep. As I listened to the sermon, I was reminded of a beautiful truth: every person has immeasurable value to God.

The shepherd didn't leave the ninety-nine because they didn't matter. He went after the one because that one mattered too.

It made me think about the women at Nicole's House. So many have been defined by labels the world has given them—addict, felon, hopeless. But Jesus never defines us by our worst moments. He sees women created in the image of God, worthy of love, redemption, and hope.

What a privilege it is to walk alongside these women as they begin to see themselves the way Christ has always seen them.

I'm also grateful for Sunday morning's worship. There is something special about gathering with the body of Christ and sitting under the faithful teaching of God's Word. God has a way of taking a passage we've read many times and using it to speak to our hearts in a fresh way.

This message is also why Portraits of Recovery means so much to us. Every portrait tells the story of a life that has value, dignity, and hope.
