Dads of NWA has grown into so much more than a Facebook group. We've become a nonprofit, a community, and for many of us, a brotherhood. One of the things I'm most proud of is how we show up for each other when life gets hard.

Today, I'm asking our community to rally around one of our own.

Many of you know Tim. If you don't, let me tell you a little about him.

I've known Tim for about half the time he's been a part of Dads of NWA, and if there's one thing I can tell you, it's that he's one of the best dads I know. He's the kind of father many of us should strive to be more like. He's humble, generous, and the type of guy who would much rather be helping someone else than asking for help himself.

Tim has volunteered his time, supported our mission, and even hired fellow dads from our community for projects around his home. He invests in people because that's simply who he is.

For the past nine years, Tim has been battling unexplained seizures. What started as occasional episodes has become more frequent. Recently, he suffered a seizure just minutes after driving. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it was a sobering reminder of how serious this has become.

Because of these seizures, Tim is currently unable to drive. Each episode leaves him confused and recovering for several days. His family is hoping to raise enough money for a specially trained seizure response service dog. The dog can alert them before a seizure, help get Tim to safety, and provide peace of mind during an incredibly difficult season.

These dogs are life changing, but they also come with a significant cost of between $18,000 and $20,000.

I know Tim would never ask for a handout. That's exactly why I'm asking on his behalf.

Dads of NWA family,

We recently learned that the cuddle cot at Mercy Hospital is no longer working as intended and needs to be replaced.

For those unfamiliar, a cuddle cot is used when families experience the unimaginable loss of a newborn. It allows parents and loved ones additional time with their baby, time that is incredibly meaningful during an otherwise heartbreaking moment.

The cost to replace the cuddle cot is $3,000. Our nonprofit will be gifting these funds to Chandler and Paisley Skies, the organization that coordinates the purchasing and distribution of cuddle cots across the country. This nonprofit was started by one of our very own dad and group admin Dusty Hurst, which makes this effort especially close to home.

Since 2021, Keaton Lawson has been a dad in this group. He went to work one day and was hit by a car in Bella Vista. A daughter lost her father and a community lost a great man.
