The People's CSA

The People's CSA Providing individuals in need with the freshest locally grown produce. Fresh produce is one of the least accessible foods donated to charitable organizations.

The People’s CSA is a nonprofit dedicated to challenging food insecurity, alleviating hunger, and reducing food waste in the Northern Virginia & DC region. Our mission is to:

- Provide an aesthetically-enriched cultural relationship to food to any person.

- Eliminate urban and rural food deserts through direct-to-consumer food delivery.

- Discourage food waste from farms, restaurants, and ret

ail establishments.

- Bolster the capacity of charitable food distribution centers in the northern Virginia and DC Metro areas.

- Increase access to healthy food options for individuals in financial need.

- Increase economic support of local food producers through engagement and educational outreach.

- Combat diet-related disease through nutritional support.

- Our unique direct-delivery model connects individuals in need to locally-grown produce on a weekly basis. Our work targets this need directly, alleviating both hunger and nutrition deficits.

We’re thrilled to see PCSA included in this incredible lineup of local nonprofits by The Scout Guide Hunt Country

The organizations on this list cover a wide array of specialties, including environmental sustainability, equitable food access, affordable housing, animal welfare, and therapeutic support.

Together, we create a network of activists and philanthropists working to improve the quality of life for all of our residents, regardless of background or income.

It’s hard but important work, and we’re so happy to be a part of it.

Eating fresh, local veggies can be expensive, especially when you’re on a budget. That’s where The People’s CSA can help.

PCSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing locally-grown produce to individuals and families in our community. Our direct-delivery model eliminates the need to drive long distances to your nearest farm or farmer’s market.

Plan your deliveries in advance with our monthly check-in form. Skip when you need to. Stop your deliveries anytime.

Can’t be home for your delivery? Not a problem. Just set out a cooler and we’ll ensure that your delivery stays cool.

Everyone should have access to local, nutritious vegetables. With PCSA, you’ll never have to worry about having enough healthy food to eat.

We're excited to announce that the People's CSA website is live! Cash donations can be made via paypal. Check out www.thepeoplescsa.org

Donations to The People’s CSA can be made in cash or as food goods. All donations are tax deductible. We provide donors with a receipt of their donation for their records.

Individuals in need receive fresh, local produce delivered right to their door. We receive food donations from both individuals and small businesses, helping to reduce food waste in our community. Our model eliminates the need to travel for food.

No more having to choose between work, childcare, and healthy nutrition. Just fresher, better food, plus more time to focus on what’s really important.

We see access to nutritious food as a fundamental human right.

Locally-grown produce is one of the most inaccessible grocery items for individuals living in underserved communities. By partnering with Artemisia Farm & Vineyard and other local farms, we’re able to supply families in need with fresh, nutritious vegetables all year round.
