Happy Heart Day and Organ Donor Day! Valentine’s Day is so much more than just that to many families across the world but especially in Arkansas. When we started Lana’s Heart Foundation we had already lived through more than most families live through in a lifetime. She was born with a rare congenital heart defect (hypoplastic left heart syndrome) that required us to travel 3 states away for multiple surgeries before she was 2. When we moved to NWA we learned she needed a heart transplant that, although not states away, was still a 3.5 hour drive for us. Our years at ACH shaped our lives, our family and our hearts forever. The whole staff was our family and still is. This is why today we want to give back to them, recognize them and thank them for giving so much support everyday and what better day to do it? We created a fundraiser to raise awareness to Lana's Heart Foundation but also the amazing nurses and staff at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Arkansas Children’s Northwest and with the help of Alexander Baking Company in Rogers and Community Bakery in Little Rock we were able to send some love on Heart Day!

January 25, 2011 We were standing in Arkansas Children’s Hospital praying for a family we did not know, hundreds of miles away.
January 25, 2011 a mother hundreds of miles away said goodbye to her son for the last time.
January 25, 2011 Timothy gave Lana a gift so precious that she needed so much.
January 25, 2011 we mourned a loss as we received a miracle.

If you are not an organ donor please consider it because you never know when you will be someone else’s miracle. So unbelievably grateful and blessed.
