AWANA Clubs is a worldwide Christian ministry for children and youth. The mission of the ministry is that all children and youth throughout the world would come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. At TBC, our program is for children from pre-school through 6th grade. The children are divided into small groups based on age and grade in school. Together, we journey through the Bible with
curriculums specially tailored for each age group from August to May. Weekly Bible lessons, memory verses and games, provide a base for Christian faith, monthly theme nights add a little extra fun to the program and mission/outreach activities help to expand the AWANA curriculum to life application. AWANA is an excellent building block to a strong Biblical Worldview that your child will remember for their entire life. When does AWANA meet? AWANA at TBC is held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Our schedule follows and shares vacation times with the USD 375 calendar. Opening night is Wednesday, August 24th and we will celebrate the year with an awards ceremony on May 10. You will receive a full calendar when you register your child for AWANA along with an inclement weather policy. How much does AWANA cost? our program is free. We do ask patents to donate to our prizes, or treats on birthday night. We ask that clubbers please bring their handbook and vest or bag back with them on Opening Night. Clubbers have memory verses, lessons and/or activities to work on between AWANA meetings. Your child’s handbook will provide you with some basic definitions. Please plan to have your child spend 5-10 minutes per day working on their memory verse or AWANA lesson/activity. Parental involvement helps reinforce the lessons the children learn during AWANA Club time each week. Simple discussion during dinner or at bedtime can make a huge difference in their understanding of the materials. There are also parent resources available through AWANA to complement their handbooks. If you are interested in the parent resources, please let me know. How can parents and adults get involved? AWANA relies on adult volunteers. Thankfully, we have great volunteers every year at TBC. However, we can always use more help. The jobs are easy and the children are blessings! The remaining openings for volunteers require nothing more than showing up and staying for the AWANA time on Wednesday evenings. I ask that you prayerfully consider joining us in this ministry. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please contact the church at the phone number above.
