Oaxaca Youth Empowerment funds educational expenses that provide supplemental academic and other services that enhance the well being of Oaxacan students.

Our program is funded through sponsorhips and other donations. Each child in our program has a sponsor that supports their schooling. Sponsorhips are $250.00 and provide the opportunity for a child to study and work towardsa bright future.

25 Moments of OYE
A Generation Takes Flight
In 2024, almost 25 years after we started, we organized a photo session for the first time that brought together every graduate from that generation, OYE balloons in hand. It was the first time we did something like this: giving an entire generation a moment of their own to be seen and recognized, not just individually. That photo turned years of scattered work into one collective achievement, and even though we later found other ways to tell their stories, like our graduate podcast, this was the first step that opened that door.

Jose Armando studied Software Development and Management at the Universidad Tecnologica de los Valles Centrales de Oaxaca, thanks to the joint support of Centro de Esperanza Infantil and OYE donors. During his studies, he built an entire system from scratch for a hotel in Bahias de Huatulco, in under four months. Today he firmly believes technology can help close the digital divide in Oaxaca.
